After what feels like 500 rounds of “should we move this here” and “does this look alright” we are finally coming to a close on our house plans! Erick and I knew we wanted to design our own home, but I guess I never realized all the tiny details that you have to take into consideration… like having electrical outlets in the soffits for Christmas lights! (Yes, that was a thing we were supposed to remember in March!) Slowly, but surely, items are getting crossed off our to-do list and we are getting closer and closer to a day we are excited for CONSTRUCTION! I think I will probably have a ground-breaking ceremony to commemorate the occasion. 🙂
Plans are Done – (Nearly… just have to get our foundation engineered.)
Electrical is In
Water is In
Soil is Analyzed
WE ARE READY TO GET MOVING… figuratively and literally! Gotta start saving those Amazon boxes…
If you read about our exterior home inspiration, you’ll remember that we wanted a modern farmhouse style home. Below is a sneak peek of what our entry will look like and I think our architect, Hot Tin Roof, did a great job of combing country vibes (Hello, wraparound porch!) with the contemporary storage and technology we needed. Honestly, although it has been a ton of fun planning what we hope will be our forever home, it has also been really difficult. We don’t know what the future has in store for our family, careers, or life in general! All we can do is be grateful for what we have been given, and look forward to the journey ahead.
