I think people can literally hear my whimpers when I find the perfect lip color at Sephora only to discover it is $50+ and have to put it back! As I talk myself out of the separation makeup anxiety that is looming, I snap a quick pic of the color and swatch and then hunt for the next best (or cheaper) thing.

Some things are worth the splurge – like THE perfect red lip color, but some I just can’t bring myself to justify the cost. Below are 5 of my favorite drugstore makeup finds that I use almost everyday and are dupes for much more expensive counterparts.  Links on where to buy below!

NYX HD Studio Translucent Setting Powder

If you are a fan of Makeup Forever’s translucent powder, you have GOT to give this one a try. I discovered this NYX powder after constantly running out of the Makeup Forever version. (Why is the container so small, guys? Seriously, my brush wont even fit in there!) It got way too expensive for me to replace it and I needed an oil-absorbing, no-color powder to use with all of my makeup looks. This powder was the solution! A little goes a LONG way with the NYX powder and BEHOLD the large container. 🙂 Really though, be careful puting this on one because powder will poof all in your face if you do too much.

Loreal Colour Riche La Palette Nude 1

There are a ton of knockoff Urban Decay Naked palette’s on store shelves these days, but this Loreal version is my fav. It has matte and shimmery shades ranging from brow bone highlight colors to deep browns that can be used as liner. This one also makes a great travel option because – Versatility. Versatility. Versatility.

Sonia Kashunk Lip Liner

Oh, Target, how I love thee… and your exclusive makeup brand Sonia Kashunk. I first purchased a Sonia Kashunk lip liner because one of my MAC favorites went missing. I was perusing the aisle and VOILA! The perfect nude pencil that looked exactly the same as my MAC jumped out at me. I tried it and now own 3 different colors of this stuff. It goes on smooth, is easy to sharpen and has long wearability – like I will have to put on more lipstick before I have to put on more liner. Thank you, Target. You’ve done it again.

 e.l.f Illuminating Palette

Not going to lie… I usually don’t use e.l.f. cosmetics, but I’m a definite sucker for a nice, dewy glow… and this one was just $6! Say Whaaa?!  So many highlighters have glittery chunks in them which I hate. It just doesn’t look good for everyday wear. This e.l.f. version, however, has the perfect amount of luminosity to give you cheekbones that just don’t stop without making you look like you bathed in glitter. Bonus – it has four color options to choose from. It looks just as gorgeous as my Too Faced Candlelight highlighter, and costs three times less! YASSS! My fav color in the palette so far is the bottom right one. So pretty dusted across cheekbones, chin and dabbed on the forehead and nose.

Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color

Matte lip colors have been hitting the scene hard and won’t be going anywhere for a while – especially with fall around the corner. Mattes are easy to apply, come in a variety of colors and look fantastic on ALL ages! They are timeless and classy and won’t smear across your face if your hair touches your lips on accident. (Hate when that happens!) An affordable lipstick I found that won’t dry out or flake is the Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color. I keep one of these in my purse at all times for touch up and wear the shade “Lust for Blush” (shown in the photo) nearly EVERY DAY. I will definitely be going back to get more of these in deeper shades for when it gets colder out, and if you’re planning on doing the same – go soon. They sell out quick!
