What I’ve Learned After 6 Months of Marriage

marriage, anniversary

This past Friday, August 28th, Erick and I celebrated 6 months of marriage. <3

Since being married, I have learned that it takes a lot of compromise and conversation to keep a marriage healthy and happy – Compromise because when two people marry they become a team that has to support each other, and sometimes bend a little to ensure both sides are happy with the outcome; Conversation because although you may know each other really well, you cannot read each others’ minds and truly know how the other is feeling. Also, open communication, on little and big things, will assure both are on the same page when it comes to expectations of how, when and why things are done. From the time you wake up on weekends, to the way you wash and fold laundry, compromise and communication is the life-source for a successful, long-term relationship.

The past 6 months and 1 day has been one of the most challenging, exciting and rewarding adventures in my life. It is strange to look back now and think that we were once living in separate houses, visiting each other when we could. Bringing two lives together as one is a blessing and I will never stop counting the days I’ve been married.

I love you, Erick!

Happy 6 months and 2 days for tomorrow, and 3 days for the day after that. <3

Here are photos that I tried to take of me and Erick to celebrate and remember by. (Erick HATES taking photos.)

This pretty much sums up our relationship.
